Well, we did it. Caved like the thousands of other parents before us, and we got ourselves a minivan. A 2010 Honda Odyssey EX-L to be exact. Now, I shouldn't sound like this is a bad thing, we are absolutely thrilled with our new car. While we were waiting on it, we were both so excited. Now that we own it, we love it even more. The room! The comfort! The DVD player! We can fit dogs, kids, and other people besides us! Our Volvo XC70 was great - if we weren't military, didn't have pets, and lived around family. We have happily moved on.
The monkey loves her new van and the fact you can watch a movie in it, although I did tell her it only works on far road trips so she doesn't expect it all the time. Even my husband is beyond happy with it, and is content to let me chauffer him in "Mom's taxi".
I am so glad that we made this decision, and for all my SUV driving friends, I see NOTHING wrong with driving my minivan and I do it proudly :)

We went to a football game this weekend, and my brother drove in his minivan. The room! The comfort! It's just awesome.
We were talking about getting one, but we are about a year from paying off my SUV (with a third row), so it just doesn't make sense.
